Nao- The Robo: NAO is first humanoid robot. He has continually been evolving since the beginning of his adventure in 2006.

NAO is first humanoid robot. Manufactured by SoftBank Robotics (previously Known as Aldebaran Robotics) in Paris France. NAO is the world’s leading and most widely used humanoid robot for education, healthcare, and research. NAO is 58cm tall, autonomous, and fully programmable robot that can walk, talk, listen to you, and even recognise your face. He has continually been evolving since the beginning of his adventure in 2006. Their was Six prototypes of Nao were designed between 2005 and 2007. The first production version of the robo was in March 2008.

Basic Structure:

NAo Robo has Height of 58 centimeters, Weight 4.3 kilograms, Power supply with lithium battery providing 48.6 Wh,  Autonomy 90 minutes, Degrees of freedom 25, CPU Intel Atom of 1.6 GHz Frequency , Built-in OS NAOqi 2.0 (Linux-based), Compatible OS Windows, Mac OS, Linux.

Programming languages used are C++, Python, Java, MAT-LAB, Ur-bi, C, .Net. And the Basic Sensors are Two HD cameras, four microphones, sonar rangefinder, two infrared emitters and receivers, inertial board, nine tactile sensors, eight pressure sensors, Connectivity Ethernet, Wi-Fi.

Currently in his 5th version, about 10 000 NAO have already been sold throughout the world.
The Australian “rUNSWift” team from the University of New South Wales carried off the Standard Platform League cup at the RoboCup 2015 competition after having explored and deployed all NAO’s capabilities within the framework of their university degree course.

Capabilities of Nao Robo: Moving : 25 degrees of freedom and a humanoid shape that enable him to move and adapt to the world around him. His inertial unit enables him to maintain his balance and to know whether he is standing up or lying down.

Feeling : The numerous sensors in his head, hands and feet, as well as his sonars, enable him to perceive his environment and get his bearings.

Hearing and speaking : With his 4 directional microphones and loudspeakers, NAO interacts with humans in a completely natural manner, by listening and speaking.

Seeing : NAO is equipped with two cameras that film his environment in high resolution, helping him to recognise shapes and objects.

Connecting : To access the Internet autonomously, NAO is able to use a range of different connection modes (WiFi, Ethernet).

Thinking : We can’t really talk about “Artificial Intelligence” with NAO, but the robots are already able to reproduce human behavior.
